PIEp Research School Activities

The list below is only a selection! Please see the CIG pages for more events.

Pub-evening in Stockholm

Why not combine Dennis Sturm's invitation to a stand-up comedy show in Stockholm on May 26th, with a study visit at one of the KTH groups, or with a CIG meeting, in which case PIEp is happy to cover your travel expenses?

CIG activity in general… CIG membership is not a requirement, but PIEp PhD students are strongly encouraged to get engaged in CIG activities, which also offer funding and thereby freedom to progress your common interest. A number of new CIGs could be emerging. What about a CIG for industrial PhD students, to encourage experience exchange? What about a (Industrial) Design CIG? What about a ‘Design against poverty’ CIG? Talk to Martin (Marting@PIEp.se) if you have more ideas.

  • Tiger Team Writing Workshop in preparation for ICED'11
Based on last year’s success with the Tiger Team Writing Workshop Series, the Summer School at Stanford University during ICED and the Journal Writing Journey that concludes this summer, we have decided to try to make this series of events a bi-annual activity! This means that we will start a new TTWW process this fall, trying to get as many high quality papers as possible for the ICED’11-conference, and hold a new Summer School in August 2011 (in Copenhagen this time). In this case, we will invite the PIEp International Partners to participate as well (PhD students from Munich, Cambridge, Stanford, Aalto) to encourage international co-publication.
