Participation in the PIEp Research School awards course credits based on learning achievements. PIEp Research School offers typically 15 credits (to equal 10 weeks of full time studies) per year, based on participation in one course per year, active participation in CIG activities, participation in the PIEp annual event and annual meeting(s).
PIEp will usually pay for travel and accommodation if the cheapest way of travel is chosen and the recommended hotels are used (if appropriate). This is valid for all formally accepted PIEp PhD students. External members, alumni and future members of the PIEp Research School are warmly invited but must meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
All reservations should be made individually by the PhD students. All expenses are initially covered by the home departments and later reimbursed by PIEp via the respective node leaders, meaning that the reimbursement is paid to the University, not to students personally.
To be reimbursed, please follow the requirements of your home department, but also send a summary of all your expenses - broken down into (A) Travel and (B) Accommodation - to Vicki Derbyshire within 2 weeks of the activity. (please note: Copies of receipts are not required for this– just a comprehensive list.)
