PIEp Research School Common Interest Groups, CIGs

PIEp Research School is organized in Common Interest Groups, CIGs, which are formed to promote bottom-up entrepreneurial behavior amongst the Research School members. All PIEp PhD students are strongly encouraged to actively participate in one or more CIGs.

All CIGs have direct access to funding for student initiated activities, meetings, travel etc. Each CIG has one or more coordinators responsible for the use of CIG funds for meetings, participation in CIG-oriented conferences, internal meetings, inspiration activities, travel etc. The CIG coordinators are financially responsible for the CIG budget and for reporting to Research School management.

Although CIG membership is not technically a requirement, all PIEp PhD students are strongly encouraged to get engaged in CIG activities, which also offer funding and thereby freedom to progress your common interest. A number of new CIGs could be emerging. What about a CIG for industrial PhD students, to encourage experience exchange? What about a (Industrial) Design CIG?
