NODES
From the early days of PIEp, it was clear that involving several of the major technical universities in Sweden would be beneficial both to PIEp and to the institutions themselves. The PIEp Nodes together show a strong commitment to engineering design, and in particular to product innovation engineering.
The KTH Node specialises in mechatronics, integrated product development, product and service design and industrial economics and organization.
The LTH Node specialises in the design sciences (such as machine design, industrial design, packaging and logistics, ergonomics, work sciences) and also software development and physics.
The LTU Node specialises in mechanical engineering, economics and social sciences, industrial design, entrepreneurship, functional product development, industrial organisation, and accounting and control.
The DH/UmU Node has a specific competence in industrial design that is well reputed world-wide.
The CTMH Node offers a concentrated knowledge on medical technology, with close partnerships with KTH, Karolinska Institute (KI) and Stockholm County Council.
The HJ Node is well known for their close contact with start-ups and their large network of smaller companies in an innovative region of Sweden. PIEp spans all four schools at HJ (the Jönköping International Business School, the School of Education and Communication, the School of Engineering, and the School of Health Sciences).
