IDRE

IDRE stands for Innovation Driven Research Education and is PIEp’s effort to create a new postgraduate education. The initiative is based on our belief that postgraduate education can be improved with regard to innovation. The basic principle of IDRE is that while the scientific research questions for postgraduate work is defined, the business potential of the project is also presented. Throughout the research training the studies are combined with developing its business opportunities.

IDRE is led by Jan Wikander, Professor of Mechatronics at KTH, supported by a steering committee made p by people with great innovation skills. As a graduate student in IDRE you take part in several courses and regular meetings with the group. PIEp currently operates four IDRE projects, see Research> Project. All IDRE-doctoral students are also members of PIEp graduate schools.
