Innovation Driven Research Education

IDRE stands for Innovation Driven Research Education and is PIEp’s effort to create a new graduate programme. The initiative builds on our belief that postgraduate education can be improved with regard to innovation. The basic principle of IDRE is that while the scientific issue of graduate student work is defined, also presents a commercial potential for the search for the solution of the PhD project. Through postgraduate handled since research studies integrated with the development of business opportunities.

IDRE is led by Jan Wikander, Professor of Mechatronics at KTH, who is supported by a steering group with innovation skills. As a graduate student in IDRE you are offered several courses and regular meetings of the group. PIEp currently operates four IDRE projects, see Research> Project. All IDRE-graduate students are also members of PIEp graduate schools.

PIEp spreads like to model for innovation-driven research to other research, please contact Jan Wikander or PIEp management.
